2023 KBA SUMMIT YOUTH WEEK

Before Camp

  • Have a Special Prayer Emphasis in your church for students and adults at camp.

  • BACKGROUND CHECKS REQUIRED for all Adults 18 years of age and older.   Summit Camps is concerned that all students coming to camp are safe and protected.  In order to help do this, Summit is requiring ALL Churches to verify that they have run Background Checks on all sponsors 18 years of age and older.  PLEASE SEE ENCLOSED PAGE WITH REQUIREMENTS AND OPTIONAL COMPANY TO USE TO RUN BACKGROUND CHECKS.

  • Churches coming to Summit Week at KBA – PLEASE pay your cabin rental BEFORE you come to camp.

  • Have a parent/camper meeting and go over “NEW” updated KBA Rules & Summit Camp Plans.  Summit suggests that you have a ratio of 1 adult for every 12-15 students that you bring to camp. 

  • Make sure all campers, sponsors, cooks, and any children coming are registered under your Username through the NEW website registration tab.  

  • Remember to do your best to get students who don’t know Christ to come with your group to camp.

  • Download the sign-up poster from the website if you want to help encourage students to sign up and come.

  • Make sure to go over the “NEW TO DO LIST” so you don’t forget anything as you get ready for camp.

MONDAY OF CAMP

  • Registration Packets will be given to you with any last minute changes when you arrive at camp.

  • Summit staffers will greet you and make sure you find your way to your cabin. You will have a staffer that will check in with you each day.  At KBA your staff will eat at least one meal, either breakfast, lunch, or dinner with your church each day.  Your Staff wants to be an encourager and prayer warrior for your church for the week.  Please let them know if you have any problems!

  • Check in for Registration at the Summit OfficeYou will be given Registration Wrist Bands for everyone.

  • Everyone MUST wear Wrist Bands all week.  If Wrist Band is lost-$1 for replacement band in office.

  • Make Registration checks out to “Summit Camps” for total registration minus the $200 registration deposit that must be sent in at the time a cabin is reserved, PLUS your $20 for the Digital Link Picture Files. Youth Camp Cost:  $125 per person for students/adults/children, unless we received your pre-registration deposit late and then it is $135 per person. $85 per preschooler 5 years & under for all the Youth weeks of camp.

  • Turn in the BACKGROUND VERIFICATION FORM listing all your adults 18 and older.

  • Go to KBA Office to get Cabin Key.

  • Summit Registration will begin in the Chapel for Youth Week at KBA

  • Adult Sponsors will meet in the tabernacle at 4:30.

camp nurse

  • A Camp Nurse will be on duty each day at KBA.  The Nurse’s Station is located in the small brown building directly across the road behind the KBA Business Office.  All people on the grounds must be registered.  Registration  forms will be kept on file in the Nurse’s Station with any health information.

  •  TO SEE A NURSE, AN ADULT SPONSOR MUST ACCOMPANY EACH STUDENT.

Theme award

  • We will have a Theme Award given to the church that implements our theme in the best way.  You can use “REACT” in many ways in your cabins and on the Rec. field.  The REACT theme should provide all kinds of opportunities for decorating.  The Theme can be implemented in everything that you do as a group.  Use your creative minds!!!  However, PLEASE NO costumes in any worship services.

counselor training

  • On Monday right after the Sponsors meeting at 5:30, our Camp Director will lead all those who are interested in Counseling or helping during the invitation time.  Adults and any high school students, approved by their Youth Leaders, who would like to help, please come to this meeting.  Youth Ministers – please only send those students that you think would qualify.

digital assets online

  • Curriculum to help your students and your adults will be available to downloaded from the NEW website at www.summitcampsok.com. There will also be a student booklet with schedule and map and student devotions that you can download and copy for each student.

  • This booklet is ONLY available from the website after May 1st.

  • It will be each church’s responsibility to copy this booklet for each of their students and adults.

  • We also have posters for each week on the website that you can use in your church as Sign-ups sheets.  They have the date, program personnel and a place to put the cost for your church.  CHECK IT OUT!!! 

Digital Pictures & Videos

  • NEW for this year, for only $20 Summit will take group pictures on Tuesday and Wednesday at KBA and provide a Digital Link file with BOTH sizes of pictures (5 x 7 Serious and Funny) and (8 x 10 Serious and Funny).  You will receive 4 pictures in all.  This way each church can print out all the photos for each member of their group if they so choose. We will NOT be printing out the photos. We want to give you the ability to print as many pictures as you want.  The $20 for the Digital Link MUST be paid at the time of Registration and each church must provide an e-mail address that the link can be uploaded to at the end of the week.

  • After each week of camp, the video YouTube Link for the week will be available on our website so that your church can download the video for viewing.

Summit Missions offering

  • The Mission Offering for this year is going to sponsor SUMMIT COLUMBIA.  A team of adults and students will be going to Columbia, June 15 – 23 to have a youth camp for students.  We hope to have 80 to 100 students at Summit Columbia.  The Camp will be a lot like this week.  Many of these students will come to camp for the very first time in their lives.  Please help to make this camp a great success so many students will hear about Christ and come to accept Him as Savior. 

  • You can also help by purchasing a Summit Columbia t-shirt.  All the money from the sales of this shirt will go to help support the camp. 

Pre-order camp shirts

  • You can Pre-Order your shirts for $12 for YM – XL and $14 for XXL & XXXL and save $2 each.  At camp they will be $14 & $16.  Summit t-shirts will be available in the Tabernacle before and after each evening service.  Come find a great gift to take home.   At camp you will also have the opportunity to purchase other items.

 Childcare during sessions

  • This year there will be Child Care for children in the Evenings ONLY.  Young children ages 4 years old through 5th grade coming to camp will have a great opportunity to attend our “Child Care” just for them.  At KBA Summit Youth Week, Children’s Church will be each evening during worship on the front porch of Red Oak Cabin just across from the tabernacle.  Please don’t bring the children until 7:45 Monday Night and 7:15 every other evening & pick them up promptly after the service.  

kba ropes course

  • Each church will have the opportunity to experience the Ropes Course during one of their Rec. days at KBA.  KBA has their low and high Challenge Ropes Course available to you and/or your group during your free time. 

  • ALL of the sign-ups for the Ropes Course will be on Tuesday morning in the Chapel at 8:00am in a LOTTERY DRAWINGNo need to come early, BUT PLEASE be there by 8:00.

  • Each group will be assigned a day of “Rec.” at the Ropes Course.  This info will be available in the Tuesday morning newsletter that you will receive Monday evening.

KBA Canoes and archery

  • KBA has Kayaks (1 Person) and Canoes (1 to 3 people) and Archery during the afternoon hours when your group has free time.  Students and adults need to sign up in the KBA Office.  Canoes and Kayaks are located down from the Rattan (Formerly Poteau) First Cabin.  Adults are needed to help supervise! 

  • KBA will have two Large Water Slides available during your groups “Free Time”.  Each person wanting to participate in any of these activities MUST sign the Release form on the Back of the Summit/KBA Health Form.  If you have not signed the form, you will NOT be able to participate!  

Camp office

  • The Summit Camp Office hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 30 minutes before and after the evening services.  To reach someone in the Summit Office, please call (918) 567-2601 at KBA and they will get a message to the Summit Office or you can call cell number (405-863-5126).  Please have someone from your church check in at the Summit Office each day for messages and mail.  Outside of Camp, the Home Summit Office is 405-330-1700.

Traffic & Speed limits

  • Unnecessary traffic is prohibited at KBA.  The speed limit is 15 miles per hour.  No one is allowed “off” grounds.  No one is allowed to ride in the back of pickups, SUVs, or hang out of a vehicle of any kind, etc.  At KBA all Hiking trails are clearly marked by the prayer garden if your group decides to go hiking.  All campers are to be in their cabins by 11:00 pm each evening except for planned Late Night events.  There will be security guard at the gate at all times during this week of camp.

WILD AND CRAZY RECREATION 

  1. We will divide your cabin into groups of 10-15 people.

  2. Have at least one adult as a team leader.

  3. Check the office bulletin board every morning for the schedule as well as your newsletter.

  4. Please be on time for all games. 

  5. Please encourage total participation in games.  Some students may be cheerleaders.

  6. Help keep a Christ-like attitude in all games.

  7. We strongly recommend adult participation in all of the Wild and Crazy Recreation.

  8. Many teams will dress up, paint their faces, etc. to build unity within their group.

  9. EVERYBODY IS A WINNER, NOBODY IS A LOSER!!!

  10. There will be a Spirit Stick given for each Rec. group each day to the most exciting and Christ-like Team.  The Armadillo Award will be given to the most Servant-like and best all around group for the week.

  11. There will be 3 Water field days & 1 Ropes Course day.  At KBA, your church will attend the Ropes Course one afternoon as part of Rec.

  12. Your Recreation time will not change each day, but the Ropes Course times might change.

 The Wild And Crazy Recreation activities will be directed and led by the Recreation Staff. 

The purpose of these activities is to provide a non-competitive, compliment-giving, fun-filled group time.

  2. Check the Competitive Rec. Sheet for all the Rules.

  3. Check Summit Bulletin Board in the tabernacle every morning for schedule & newsletter

  4. Be on time for all games (10 minute grace period)

  5. If you enter a team, you must show up or all your team will be disqualified.

  6. Rules will be explained.  Recreation Staff and Summit Staff will oversee the games.

  7. Students may sign up for ONLY ONE Sport.

  8. No sponsor volleyball.  Any sponsor wanting to play is encouraged to play in the 4-on-4 Open Volleyball.

***Sponsors must sign up all their teams online any time before 8:00 p.m. Monday night in the summitcampsregistration.com leader portal. We will have a place you can do it in the tabernacle if you can’t get internet connection. ***
